A Culinary Celebration at the Source
Festivities Catering and Special Events created "Dinner On the Farm'' at Connelly Gardens
Under the vision and leadership of Chef Keith Lord, Festivities Catering designed, planned and implemented a special meal under the shade of pomegranite branches overlooking a breath-taking view of Connelly Gardens. Chef Lord's design gave folks a chance to have conversation with others in an ideal setting while enjoying the flavors and colors of the field.
Festivities' capable staff set an inviting table that was both brilliant and aromatic. As guests approched the dining area they were treated to coral colored table clothes which were accented with mint bouquets, melon vines and rosemary branches. But it wasn't just sights and smells that the evening had to offer.
Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a choice of raspberry julep, mojito with a splash of melon, premium beer, brewed tea or berry lemonade. Farmer Tim took guests (and thier coctails) for a afternoon stroll through the garden, teaching them about sustainable farming practices and the importance of eating locally grown.
Soon, guests found their places at the table and the garden was abuzz with lively conversation. The family-style meal was brought out one course at a time by a succession of waitstaff carrying large handmade platters. The service was impeccable; water and wine glasses were filled incessantly and all other dining needs attended to promptly. Both "front of the house" and "back of the house" staff at Festivities Catering and Special Events are to be commended for a job well done!
As the spring sun set over the nearby hills, amber and gold candlelight danced on guests' faces. The meal was satisfying in every way and a good time was had by all.

Grow Your Own Food Plant Sale
Due to the great popularity of home gardens this year, and the need for information and supplies for first-time gardeners, Connelly Gardens hosted a "Grow Your Own Food Plant Sale".
The event was well-attended, with approximately 500 people passing through. The weather was good and the people were pleasant. Visitors toured the greenhouses and chicken yard. Some took leisurely strolls through the gardens, while others picniced on the lawn. The sale was fun and rewarding, and we look forward to doing it again next year.
